The Employability PACT is a soft skill training and assessment tool created to increase readiness of high school students for the workforce. The PACT was created by area businesses and educators to better prepare our young people for careers – by boosting soft skills.

How it Works
Each student in each class will be rated on a scale from 1-4 in grades 9-12 for each category of the PACT.

Mock Interview
By the middle of their senior year, if the student has received a score of 3 or 4 in all the competencies and proficiencies (listed above), and has met the attendance requirement, they will be invited to sign up for a mock interview.
In order to sign up for the mock interview, the student must bring a copy of their resume (in-person) to their Work Based Learning Coordinator at their school.

Why Students Need This
The end result If student’s “pass” the mock interview with high marks, they will be validated and given the following:
PACT certification medal to wear at graduation
A letter of recommendation endorsed by Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Group, JAMA, Jackson College and Career Access Center, Michigan Works! Southeast, Jackson Cradle to Career, Jackson Community Foundation, Junior Achievement, and JCISD
Business community will be publicly notified of PACT validated seniors
This initiative is a hopeful solution to the many cries from employers saying our youth need training in soft skills.
Connecting Students with Employers
Once a student becomes PACT Verified, their resume will be sent to employers across Jackson county that have joined the PACT
